We use incredibly thick, handcrafted Japanese washi paper. We employ dyes such as madder, clay, and charcoal. The finest papermaking materials, such as kozo, mitsumata, and ganpi, are harvested by skilled individuals and meticulously crafted by the finest artisans. The beauty of collaboration between humans and nature.
Inspired by the natural beauty of the thick handcrafted Japanese washi paper, which is already beautiful on its own, we have infused it with the exquisite charcoal hue. The gentle natural white shade exudes a delicate texture that becomes even more enchanting over time. Upon closer observation, the fibers of the trees used in the material are highlighted by the illumination, revealing a multitude of captivating expressions.
From the ceiling paintings at Kyoto's Shingyoji temple, we have selected the flowers that bloom in Japan's spring and crafted them into elegant and serene bird's-eye washi folding screens. The spirit of Hokusai's spring blooms here.
